Positive Birth Classes - for New Mothers


Positive Birth Classes offer information, tools and techniques to help you explore ways to achieve a more natural birth experience. You can reduce the likelihood of experiencing a medicalised birth by preparing and being well informed in advance of your baby’s arrival. No matter what type of birth experience you are hoping for, preparing in advance can help you to understand your options and make decisions, even if things don’t unfold exactly as you hope for. When you apply the techniques taught during Positive Birth Classes, you are more likely to be calm and relaxed during labour; a calm mother is more likely to birth a calm baby.



What you can expect:

  • Understand the natural progression of labour and birth.
  • Learn how to increase your chances of achieving natural and normal progression of labour.
  • Learn techniques and strategies that will assist labour to progress.
  • Explore techniques that can help you to manage the worries and anxieties that can arise during pregnancy and labour.
  • Explore ways to increase your comfort levels during labour, including easy techniques that can help you to be more comfortable during labour.
  • Learn how to use movement, breathing techniques and visualisation to maintain relaxation and calm during labour.

Each course of classes consist of six sessions, each session is two hours in length.
