The pregnant mother or couple can learn self hypnosis techniques such as deepening relaxation, visualisation and positive suggestion. Once learned, these techniques can be used by the couple during pregnancy and birth to create more positive experiences.
A calm and supportive birthing environment combined with a relaxed body and mind are conducive for the natural release of birth hormones which support normal birth physiology. This reduces levels of Adrenalin and supports the release of Oxytocin and Endorphines, the mother's natural pain killers.
Additionally, sessions are offered to assist with concerns such as fear and anxiety about pregnancy and birth, pain relief, morning sickness, blood pressure and backache.
Sessions can combine hypnosis with breathing techniques and physical movement. Combining these strategies can support the mother in achieving a more comfortable and active birth experience.
